Scott Rusert Bio for the Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers of Minnesota

Scott is a partner in Taft’s Commercial Litigation and Compliance, Investigations, and White Collar Defense practice groups.  He is the current Chair of the state Civil Trial Specialist Certification Board and recent past Chair of the MSBA Civil Litigation Section.  In addition to being a Certified Civil Trial Specialist, Scott is one of the foremost experts in leading Special Litigation Committee Investigations in the State of Minnesota, if not the country. Scott also assists clients in responding to governmental civil investigations and inquiries. In his more than 30 years of practice, Scott has been lead counsel on matters in state and federal courts in a total of 36 states and tried cases to verdict on behalf of both defendants and plaintiffs in state and federal courts in Minnesota, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Texas. Scott is also a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice for both mediations and arbitrations.
